Summary

The website content outlines a poetry prompt focused on the theme of 'friends,' inviting writers to submit original poems inspired by the quotes provided, with specific guidelines for submission, including word limit, form, tags, and image requirements.

Abstract

The "Let's Be Friends" poetry prompt is designed to celebrate the spirit of friendship through creative expression. Participants are encouraged to explore the concept of friendship, drawing inspiration from a curated selection of quotes about friends. The task involves composing an original piece of poetry with a minimum of 10 words, in any poetic form, and using 'Friends' as a kicker in the submission. The submission should also include specific tags, such as 'W25 Prompt' and 'Friends,' and feature an image with a handwritten or handcrafted element. The prompt emphasizes the importance of brevity in explanatory notes and encourages the inclusion of promotional links and the tagging of other writers to foster a collaborative community. The submission period has been extended and will conclude at the end of August, transitioning into Paper Poetry's September Verses month-long prompt. New writers are welcome to join and are instructed to comment or email for inclusion. Additionally, readers are invited to subscribe to the Paper Poetry Sparks newsletter to stay updated on future prompts.

Welcome to all our Paper Poetry friends,

I hope you are all doing fabulously well and you have family, friends, near and dear ones around you who help add something extra special to your life.

I opened with a series of quotes because I’m jumping straight into our new poetry prompt. Time is precious, and so are the near and dear ones in our lives.

If you haven’t guessed it already, the prompt we’re chosen for you this week is about the precious souls in our lives we call ‘friends’.

Without further to do, your task, if you choose to accept it, is to write an original piece of poetry about friends. If you like, use one or more of the friends quotes listed above to inspire your thoughts and words. By the same token, feel free to put whatever spin, hue and texture on your perspective of friends.
