Let Your Heart Do The Talking
How can you let your heart do the talking in the face of fear?

Those of us who speak about pain, struggles and loss don’t do it for sympathy. We open up about our journeys for our own survival and to remind others they aren’t alone.
We work to heal from unhealthy dynamics and we’re allowed to make decisions for our life (including for what we choose to share online) without trying to get everyone to understand. When we attempt to get everyone to understand or agree with the lessons we learned from experiences that were unique to us, it’s old wounding being activated. The desire to be seen, heard and understood were things we didn’t get enough of, therefore the child in us is desperate to be seen or validated.
When we write vulnerable articles, we let our heart do the talking. We acknowledge our human self, which is more powerful than intellectual understanding, something many people use to make sense of our words. But that’s when our words get misinterpreted and twisted. That’s when fear creeps in because we know our intentions can easily be misjudged. That’s when the patience, space and love we hold no longer seems to matter to people. That’s when lack of compassion and emotional maturity shows up as aggressive entitlement and intelectual authority.
We have different values and world views that filter our lives and I think many of us are capable of seeing opposing world views as invitations to understand. To ask more questions. To be more curious. I think many of us are able to acknowledge that understanding doesn’t mean we have to agree, but rather to get out of our limited, shallow self centered perspectives.
We are people who are open to exploring varying beliefs, world views and facts, in a respectful manner. We do everything with compassion and curiosity, but not at the expense of our boundaries or energy. We are people who let our heart do the talking.
You just have to be willing to listen.
