Summary

The poem "Let me Breathe..!" reflects the societal pressures and expectations faced by children as they grow up, and the struggle to find personal identity and acceptance amidst these pressures.

Abstract

The narrative of "Let me Breathe..!" unfolds the journey of a child who is continuously pressured to achieve various milestones from learning to walk, talk, excel academically, and ultimately become a topper. The poem highlights the emotional toll of failing to meet these expectations, leading to a life filled with problems and stress, masked by a "fake smile." It suggests that society values the ability to conceal one's struggles, and those who cannot are deemed burdensome. The author expresses a personal sense of failure and a late realization of their fate, yearning for the freedom to breathe, to be oneself, and to be supported without judgment.

Let me Breathe..!

Story of Many kids around the world.

When I was small, I got pressurized to walk,

When I started walking, I pressurized to talk,

When I started to talk, I pressurized to learn,

When I started learning, I pressurized to be a topper,

When I failed to achieve this, my life starts.

Real-life starts with problems, stress, and with a fake smile.

If you Able to lie peoples about your problems, congrats, you got a life.

If you can’t, then you become just a burden to everyone.

I failed in learning, I failed in working,

I am failed to become a good son, even I didn’t do anything wrong done,

Maybe it was my fate, I learn this so much late,

Let me Breathe once on my own,

I feel suffocated in all this now.

Let me be once who I am,

Please let me do what I want to do,

Just one time stand by me,

And see the world from my eyes.
