Nature is alive and it teaches us invaluable lessons every day. It brings novelty to our lives because it looks different every season and it changes every second. I am amazed by the fact that we’re living on such a beautiful planet. And on a deeper level, I feel connected with everything above and below the sky.

Because we’re part of it, nature can have the power to help us understand life better. But we have to pay attention to its greatness and be receptive.

As Albert Einstein once said,

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

We tend to look for valuable lessons in a book, a famous quote or looking back to what some popular philosophers said at one point in history. But nature is here with us every day. In fact, it’s something humankind has always been part of.

So here are some important lessons we can learn from nature every day.

Nature teaches us how to adjust to change

Today is not the same as yesterday. And how a day starts might not be how a day ends. Just look at the weather. It can be sunny this very moment and in the next one— rain. Or even snow sometimes. There are times when you can watch all seasons in one day.

That’s how life is too. We can experience joy this second and sadness in the next. And depending on the changes that happen in our life, we can feel all kinds of emotions at once.

By looking at the four seasons of the year, nature teaches us to learn to accept that change is part of life — it can’t be Spring all year round. And nature helps everything adjusts to the change of seasons – humans included.

Change is good and it brings novelty into our life— each season, experience, job, or relationship has its own magic to show to us and learn from. But as nature does and when the time comes, we should learn to let go of each season with grace.

Nature teaches us it’s a vital part of our life

Spending time in nature is such a mood booster and it helps us connect with ourselves. Being outside is a daily necessity for our mind and body because nature can heal us.

Ever reached the top of the mountain or a high hill, then took a deep breath, looked around, and were amazed by how beautiful the sky was? No matter the season, the sky colors can uplift our spirit. Looking up gives us hope. It reminds us how lucky we are to be able to see such beauty. Nature has this power to remind us to be present and pay attention to what surrounds us.

Being outdoors can have such a positive impact on your day. So go for a walk. Look at the sky. Pay attention to the clouds passing by. Notice their shape. Watch the rainbow after heavy rain. Hug a tree. Smell a flower. Hear the birds chirping. See life in every shape and color.

Final thoughts

We filter things through our own perspective of life. And depending on where you find yourself in life you can have a different experience with nature. But there’s always a lesson nature can teach you. You just have to be open and receptive and nature will speak to you.
