Lessons I Learned After Publishing Over 230 Stories On Medium
Anybody can earn four or six figures writing on Medium
Nobody is perfect, not even the top 1000 writers who have received a bonus of $500. There is always room for improvement, and anyone can succeed on Medium by working hard and by dedicating themselves to the site for several months or years.
I started my Medium journey nearly ten months ago and made less than $5 in the first month of writing. It was not something that could motivate me to work harder, but I knew that I would make a lot more than this because I had read a lot about top Medium writers. I knew that he who would work hard would get success and might earn up to ten thousand dollars a month.
I continued publishing on the site and two months ago, I made my first $500. The previous month, I was given a bonus of $500. This means I am now one of the top 1000 writers of this site. I have written 230+ stories so far and have learned so many things.
- You shouldn’t write when you are inspired. Instead, you should write even if you feel that you will fail.
- Writing should not be taken for granted. There’s no need to write for yourself. Keep your audience in mind and try to please them.
- Most of the writers on Medium don’t know the value of this site. They publish infrequently and have high expectations.
- Most of the articles published on Medium are useless. It is not too tough to stand out from the crowd and be one of the most successful and best writers.
- We cannot compare the money Medium pays us with that of what Newsbreak and Vocal Media give. Medium is far better than any publishing platform.
- Your first few posts will be horrible and may not get enough views, but this should not keep you from writing regularly.
- Aspiring writers must invest time in analyzing the work of top writers. You cannot become a good writer if you aren’t a good reader.
- Consistency is very important on Medium even if you have gotten multiple tags of the top writer and are making money from previously published stories.
- There are millions of people on Medium waiting for your story. It is your duty to provide them with valuable information. They don’t pay $5 a month/$50 a year for generic content.
- Spare time to clap on the posts of junior fellows. They need our support and we can build a strong writing community by working together.
- You shouldn’t cover multiple subjects or niches as a beginner. Stay stick to one niche to succeed on Medium.
- Keep an eye on the titles of your viral stories and try to create similar headlines in the future.
- The only way to grow the audience on Medium is not taking a break.
- Don’t take curation and publications seriously. They cannot always guarantee success on Medium.
- Scroll through the home feed, choose the most trending stories, and read them regularly.
I am sure these lessons will help you too because making money and achieving success on Medium is not as difficult as many aspiring writers think.
