Lesson 7 — Be Yourself and Follow Your Own Path
Please don’t copy someone else; you’re better than that.

A few days ago, I successfully completed my 29-day writing #KainosChallenge. I’ve shared 29 lessons I learned during the challenge on the 29th day of writing. Today, I’m going to develop lesson 7,
Don’t try to copy the success of others; follow your own path. — Me, Gabriel (Kainos)
No need to copy the success of others to succeed
People who are successful have gone through their own journey. Their path is a whole story that can be extremely valuable to other people.
Whether they are writers, musicians, designers, videomakers, they follow their own path and that has led them to success.
They accepted who they are and decided to compose with the instrument they had in their hands. That instrument may be a real one, or it may be an ability, a skill, something they have mastered over time.
Do you understand that you don’t have to imitate them to replicate their success in your life?
The lesson: You are original.
Yes, you are. You have a unique face, a unique DNA, a unique life. No one has lived your life. No one knows your story better than you do.
Throughout your life, you have gained experience in various fields, and you can turn your whole self into a valuable story, a valuable success. You just have to do what you know best. If you don’t know something very well, but you have a strong interest in it, develop it. Get better at it. Focus on it.
This is how you can succeed. It’s through your journey. As you improve, grow, learn AND practice. Lots of practice.
If you want an extraboost of motivation to be yourself, I share the excellent shortform of my dear friend Isabella,
Have you ever copied (or wanted to copy) someone else? If so, why? Let me know in the comments 💬.
