What is special about legos?

My grandson loves legos. If you see the photo above,👆🏽you will see the number of legos spread all over the floor.

He is so possessive about his legos that he alone will sit and pick them up. He will be upset if we pick it up because we would have spoiled the model he was working on.

His legos increase all the time. If I was to ask him what gift do you want? His answer will be legos.

He will give you the lego number that is written on the box for identification with the name of the lego he wants and there you are Bingo! You know what he will appreciate.

I wondered why he loved legos which actually come under your feet when you walk and it hurts too.

What is special about legos?

This time on a vacation to the USA at Berkeley, my grandson was gainfully employed with his legos but needed help for completing his project.

He asked me for help.

My grandson loved to make airplanes, trains, fire stations, and police stations. He wanted all the thieves to be caught by the police, so he needed fast cars to run after them.

I got the feel of the legos when it passed my hands and I got hooked on to it as well.

Legos are more than just toys. They are an important part of childhood development, helping children to develop creative problem-solving skills.

Legos are special because they teach you three C’s: Creativity, Cooperation, And Communication

Historical background of legos

Legos were invented in 1932 by Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen.

The name “Lego” comes from the Danish words, “leg and godt,” which means to “play well.”

Legos were first tried and originally made from wood, but were soon replaced by plastic.

The first Lego sets were simple, consisting of just a few pieces. Today, there are Lego sets for all interests, with some sets containing over 6,000 pieces.

The LEGO brick is considered to be the most important product of the company and it has twice been named “Toy of the Century”

The products have been extensively developed with changes over the years — but its foundation continues to be the traditional LEGO brick.

The brick in its final form as we see it today was launched in 1958. It was based on the interlocking principle with its tubes making it unique and offering unlimited building possibilities.

It moves your imagination into a wealth of creative ideas that emerge through play.

What you can learn from legos

1️⃣Legos are more than just toys. they are a valuable part of childhood development.

2️⃣ Playing with Legos helps children to develop important skills such as creative thinking, problem-solving, and spatial awareness. Legos are also a great way for children to learn about cooperation and teamwork.

3️⃣Creativity is an essential skill for all children to develop. Legos are a great way to encourage creativity, as they can be used to build anything the child can imagine.

4️⃣ There are no rules in the Lego building, so children are free to let their imaginations run wild.

5️⃣Problem-solving is another important skill that children develop when playing with Legos. Building with Legos requires children to think creatively to solve problems.

For example, if a child is trying to build a tower and the tower keeps falling down, the child will need to think of a way to solve the problem.

This could involve adding more supports to the tower or changing the design of the tower.

6️⃣Spatial awareness is another skill that children develop when playing with Legos.

7️⃣Building with Legos requires children to think about the three-dimensional world and how the pieces fit together. This is an important skill for many professions, such as architects and engineers.

8️⃣ Children also learn important social skills when playing with Legos. Legos are a great way for children to learn about cooperation and teamwork. Building with

Legos are more fun when children work together, and it also helps children to learn to communicate and compromise.

I managed to take a photo of my grandson’s model. He is only 7 years old This was a rather simple one. He makes many complicated designs. but I do not have pictures.

My older grandson would trouble the younger one and break the model. The younger one would cry at the top of his voice.

Sometimes they would play together as a team and add me and my son too and we would go on for an hour and realize that we were hungry. The little one made sure that the model got over before we got food to eat.

“With a bucket of Lego, you can tell any story. You can build an airplane or a dragon or a pirate ship — it’s whatever you can imagine”. Christopher Miller

To wrap up

Legos are a very important and valuable resource for the development of children. It is equally important for adults and old people to keep moving their creativity by trying to build legos.

Legos are more than just toys.

Playing with Legos helps not only children but also adults to develop important skills such as creative thinking, problem-solving, and spatial awareness.

Legos are also a great way to learn about cooperation and teamwork in offices.

It is not only a toy. Take a chance and play with it. You can spend hours on it and not get tired or bored while letting your imagination move ahead, being creative, and building lovely new models.
