I’m all about vulnerability. To back up that statement, I will tell you that this prompt resurrects something in me that I’m not ready to talk about. So, I decided to challenge myself: How do I stay true to myself, write authentically, and stay safe simultaneously? Boundaries, dude. Boundaries. Healthy boundaries are a new concept for me. Nevertheless, here we go — I told my parents I was bisexual at sixteen, and it didn’t go over very well. We’ve all come a long way since 1998, and that doesn’t discount how devastating that experience was for me.

But I am a grown woman now — and so what, I’m back living at my parents’ house? That doesn’t make me any less of a person, and it opens the door for me to heal and explore healthier boundaries in my adulthood.

Also, as I’ve said before, I love second chances.

Thank you, Ellie Jacobson, for the thought-provoking prompt to get my creative juices flowing and growing!
