Lazy Day Poem
Listening to the rain
On this cold and rainy day,
I wondered if I had anything to say.
Outside it feels like fall,
not like summer at all.
I’m home and can’t do a lot
since I just got the second booster shot.
Perhaps I will go for a leisurely walk
and find a neighbor willing to talk.
For now I will find a warm sweater.
It’s cozy, and I already feel better.
Perhaps instead of walking a lap,
I will just lie down for a nap.
I am grateful for these lazy days
when I don’t have to rush around in a maze
of things to do and work to complete.
Instead, I can just go to sleep.
A glass of tea with honey would also be nice.
On a cool day like this we don’t need any ice.
Yes, some tea and the cake that is ready to eat.
On a cool day like this I need something sweet.
So I am writing this poem without any haste,
happy that this day didn’t go to waste,
while the rain keeps falling in a steady beat
and I can enjoy this lazy day like a treat.
