Laziness ~ A Bane or A Boon

Maybe a bit of both?

I was too lazy to cook one day,

Being hungry himself,

The husband, after much grumbling,

Did it instead.

I was too lazy to open the door,

All those seated in the hall looked at each other as if pleading, “Please do it”

When nobody relented even after two bell rings,

Somebody came from the bedroom and did it.

What do these experiences teach?

That sometimes laziness can be a boon, but mostly a bane.

Isn’t that what life is all about?

Avoiding the banes, and looking for the boons even in the bane.

Note: This poem is in response to the lazy poem prompt on Writer’s Digest. Do try it out Sahil Patel, Bhavna Narula, and Dr. Preeti Singh.
