LauraRaduenz, thanks for sharing what you learned about writing from preparing for public speaking. It was a good reminder for me of important things I need to pay more attention to, like word choice, structure and flow. I always read my stories/articles over several times, but I never thought to read them out loud. Good tip. I’ll do that from now on.

I belonged to Toastmasters many years ago, long before the words “internet” and “web” entered our lexicon. So, I enjoyed hearing of your experience and the challenge from a modern-day Toastmasters group to write, what was it 9 blogs in a month? I have another friend in Toastmasters (Rasheed Hooda) who was challenged to write 30 articles in 30 days. (I don’t know if it was a Toastmasters challenge or not.) It turned into a book for him.

Thanks to your insightful article and my friend’s experience, I’m thinking of doing my own challenge. But, I haven’t decided what it will be yet or when I will start. I’d like to do something focused on writing for Medium/Illumination. I haven’t written much and what I’ve written recently has been about memories from childhood. Any suggestions for a Medium Challenge LauraRaduenz, Rasheed Hooda?
