Receive A Million Dollars Today

Laura Jones wants to get rich and receive a million dollars today, was what the young Laura was chanting every day for the last two weeks. There was just one more week to go before the sixteen-year-old would get her millions.

On the last day of the third week of the teenager chanting her wish for a million dollars, all she got were six gifts for her seventeenth birthday. The gifts were a colorful notebook, a stationery set, complete with pens and notepads. She also received a box of chocolates, a teddy bear from her boyfriend Steve, a harmonica, and a gift certificate for a course on a drawing class.

Seven years later, at the age of twenty-three, Laura is working as a sales assistant in a shoe company. It is a well-established company in London. Laura has been working as an Administrator in the “Comfort Shoe Company” for the last two years after completing her degree in Literature and several other noteworthy diplomas.

The phone rings and Laura picks up the call, it is her friend Rita.

“Are you coming for the party tomorrow?” asked Rita, a twenty-something who was working in an Ice-cream parlor.

“I’m not sure if I’m free. I’ve got some work to complete at home. My parents are going to be visiting me on Sunday, I invited them over for lunch at my place,” said Laura.

“That’s okay, I’ll pick you up tomorrow evening for the party and help you get lunch ready for your parents on Sunday.”

“Okay, thanks for that, I’m looking forward to the party, Cheers.”

Laura was now looking forward to the party on Saturday. She could not wait for Friday to come to an end.

There was a program on Friday night on the Law of Attraction. Laura prepared her vegetable sandwiches and sat down with a bowl of potato soup to sit and watch the Law of Attraction program on television that evening. Laura lived on her own in her apartment close to where she worked. It was very convenient for Laura as she had to walk for ten minutes to get to work. She saved on her conveyance money and there were times when she cycled around the race track near her home in the mornings and then went in to work. Laura liked living in the city of London with all its history and tourist attractions. Her parents were nervous when Laura moved to London from a small town to live in the big city. They were now proud of what Laura had achieved and accomplished in her life.

Laura watched the program on the “Law of Attraction” and mentally she made notes about all the exciting possibilities which were promised in the show.

There was a lot of talk about being positive and about the magnetic power of visualization. After the program, Laura sat down on her balcony and made notes about all that she could remember about the Law of Attraction. It did seem to work for so many people. There were Testimonials and proof produced on the Law of Attraction show that made it all very hard to imagine that it could be just another New Age scam.

“Positive Attitude, Abundance, make a list of all that you want in life, gratitude for all that you have at present in life and ask the Universe with faith and you will receive all that you ask for and whatever is your heart’s desire”, was the notes which the young woman made in her diary.

Next Laura got a large scrapbook and collected photos of all the exciting things she wanted in life, from a new home, a new job, a new car, a new hobby, a new wardrobe, and even a soul mate who would be just ideal for her.

When Laura went to sleep that night she had a dream, in her dream, she was receiving all that she wanted in life. A brand new red car was delivered to her door, the chauffeur handed her the keys and he drove Laura to her new mansion. The housekeeper gave her the keys to the palatial home and told her that it was her house. In the next dream sequence, Laura was in a large art gallery, there were numerous paintings on the wall and there were also several modern pieces of artwork on display. They all looked strangely familiar. Laura noticed a brochure near a large painting she was standing near. The art brochure had her name on it and the art-works also had her signature on them. This was her art show with all her paintings on display. There was a handsome young man, who did not seem familiar to her and he had a black suit and a blue tie and on it were the words in gold lettering, “Laura’s Soul-mate”.
