LANGCHAIN — Is ‘Student Hacker in Residence’ a Good Title?
Any fool can write code that a computer can understand. Good programmers write code that humans can understand. — Martin Fowler
In the Fall ’23 Semester, LangChain is announcing its Student Hacker in Residence Program. This program aims to engage 3–5 full-time students in building LLM applications alongside the LangChain team. The selected students will receive a stipend of $7,500 for 8 weeks with an expectation of a minimum of 10 hours of work per week.
How it works:
- Applicants will work on self-guided projects in collaboration with the LangChain team.
- The selected students will get the opportunity to share their work with the LangChain community through a blog post.
- They will also have the chance to interact with other Student Hackers in Residence and professional developers from the broader community.
To apply, full-time students must have experience in building and shipping demos and apps. The application process includes providing an example of a proud application and a proposed idea for a new project.
Some of the project ideas that student hackers can work on include creating a chatbot with long-term memory, developing a personal assistant for scheduling meetings and replying to emails, and contributing to LangChain’s bi-weekly release notes.
Interested students can apply through the provided link and direct any program-related queries to the specified email address.
This Student Hacker in Residence Program offers a valuable opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in building LLM applications, collaborate with industry professionals, and contribute to the LangChain community. If you’re a full-time student with a passion for coding and building innovative applications, this program could be a great opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge.
