Lady Justice Is Not Blind

I’m sure some of you are wondering what’s the reasoning behind this title: Lady Justice Is Not Blind.

Most people who consider themselves to be part of the so called dominant culture would never think of Lady Justice not being blind. How can Lady Justice be blind when there’s justice for one group of people and no justice for another group of people?? Simple, the justice system has never worked for people who are brown and dark complexion compared to those who have pale and light complexion. There’s a saying that goes: You have the complexion for the perfection. And I tell you, it is as true as night and day.

So whenever you see that statue of Lady Justice being blindfolded, just know that Lady Justice is only blindfolded when it comes to white folks and not black and brown folks.
