Korea’s Ministry of Education has set these special zones for international education
Yes, you read it right — the Ministry of Education has designated 12 regions as special zones for international education on 13 July 2023.
These regions include:
- Jung District, Nam District, and Haeundae District in Busan
- Seogwipo on Jeju Island
- Hwaseong in Gyeonggi
Selected cities have also plans to offer (more?) internships and job opportunities for international students.
Cheonan, South Chungcheong, is one of the cities that aspires to draw more international students.
The city declared its intention to provide internship opportunities for foreign students attending local universities.
Dangjin, South Chungcheong, will also be providing more employment options for foreigners who choose to settle there. “Being designated as a special zone for international education, we will do our best to become Korea’s leading educational city by attracting international talent and linking them to our local industries,” a Dangjin representative noted.
