Korea’s GS25 convenience stores are expanding rapidly in these two Asian countries

GS25, the convenience store chain of GS Group, has been rapidly expanding its presence in Mongolia and Vietnam in recent years.
According to a statement from the company, GS25 entered the Vietnamese market in January 2018 and the Mongolian market in May 2021 as part of its expansion strategy.
Since then, the number of GS25 outlets in Vietnam has increased from 26 in 2018 to an impressive 245.
Similarly, in Mongolia, the number of outlets has surged from 34 in 2021 to 273.
The company attributes this growth not only to its strategic expansion but also to the popularity of K-foods such as ‘tteokbokki’ and fried chicken, along with the availability of coffee and spaces for customers to dine in at GS25 stores.
These offerings have contributed to increased sales in both countries.
In total, GS25 currently operates 518 stores overseas, a significant jump from 2018 when the company first ventured into the international market.
Looking ahead, GS Group aims to further expand its GS25 stores, with a target of reaching 1,000 stores by 2025 and 1,500 stores by 2027, driven by strong demand in Asian countries.
