[korea blog] topik actual test day | jjajangbap & jjamppong | alcohol “party”

Today’s the day.
The day I’ve been waiting for — TOPIK actual test day!
I slept early yesterday but woke up at 11 pm and couldn’t get back to bed.
I didn’t check the time deliberately so I won’t feel the pressure to “have to sleep.”
Managed to drift back to bed after quite a while and was rudely awakened by my alarm ⏰
5.30 am.
Oh Lord, what am I putting myself through on a weekend 😂
Had breakfast and the rice cakes my boyfriend bought for me yesterday.
This one:

Had two only because I’m afraid of indigestion.
Dressed up and got out slightly before 7.45 am.

An almost empty station because it was early and a non-working day.

What’s a cafe aulait?

On our way…

And a final transfer before we reach the exam venue.
It’s almost as far as getting to Seoul 😅

And here we are at the entrance.

The weather’s not looking good.
And by the time we were here…

It started drizzling.
There were lots of foreigners playing soccer here.
Quite an unusual sight 😜

Picking up speed as the rain’s getting heavier.

Lining up to get my identification verified and enter.

And here we are.
The seats were almost filled when I entered so carefully treading to find my seat.
There’s an identification sticker pasted on the right side so you can check against that to find your name.
There are two anyway, one of which belongs to the person taking TOPIK II in the afternoon.

The pen was given to us so all you need to prepare are:
- Exam slip
- ID or passport
- A correction tape
I have so much (negative things) to say here but I’ll keep it for next time.
Maybe another post?
Let me know if you want to read a detailed post on what went on the actual day of the TOPIK test and tips.

Anyway, the exam’s finally over.
Phew.
The boyfriend came to pick me up and it was raining when it all ended.
We’re here for lunch!

Here’s the menu.
We got 짬뽕, 짜장밥, and 탕수육.

We are helping ourselves to the side dish.
And after waiting for a while, the food came out.
The portion is huge!

Here’s my jjamppong.

The boyfriend’s jjajangbap.
And our tangsuyuk to share:

I tried a little of my boyfriend’s dish but I like mine better.
Teehee.

The boyfriend’s treating me to celebrate the end of my exam 😌

And off we go…
Saw this inside the train station.
What a sight 😅

It was raining heavily as we made our way back.

Got a seat, thankfully.

Finally!
We’re alighting at another stop, closer to the mart we frequent to get some food, snacks, and alcohol.
We’re having a “party” tonight! 😎

We saw this unmanned phone case and accessories store and decided to walk in to shop.
The boyfriend told me a few days ago that he wanted to change his phone case.
Thus, here we are.

I was tempted to change mine too, since it was just 2,900 KRW.
But decided against it because I’ve gotten it cheaper (I think) online 😅
Anyhow, time to exit and find our way to the mart.

The rain seemed to have stopped.

My first time seeing this here.
You know how the strip of lighting changes from red to green when the green man flashes?
It’s common in Seoul but it’s my first time seeing it around our neighborhood.

And out of nowhere, it’s a sudden pour.
Getting ready an umbrella ☂️

Got what we wanted at the mart and left.

The sun’s out but the pathways are filled with puddles of water 💧

And the boyfriend helping me with all the “baggage” again 😍

Guess who we saw?
The kittens near our place.
I took this from afar and zoomed in because I didn’t want to scare them away.

One eventually did but came out after seeing me crouch down.

So cute 😻
We caught up with so many shows and had a simple “party” to celebrate the end of my exam.

And the boyfriend got this set delivered for dinner without me knowing:

It was so good but very spicy 🌶️

More alcohol and snacks 😇
Feeling a little tipsy now but I’m going to hang on and wait for “King the Land” to start 😜
See you in the next post!
