Knee Deep In a Meadow
Of blissful wandering and sacred wonder
It is a morning in August. Knee deep in a meadow, wild flowers of late summer
golden rod, white asters, purple clover, butterflies, grasshoppers, and bees drunk on the abundance of the world.
The sun warming my head and my limbs balanced and blessed in this moment of blissful wandering and sacred wonder.
My thanks to Trista Signe Ainsworth and to Thank You Notes for stirring this memory in me with their prompt #30, blissful wandering.
There’s nothing more blissful to me than wandering in a natural setting, listening, looking, smelling, and (with caution) touching the life around me.
This prompt reminded me of the words in the beautiful hymn, “I wonder as I wander”. There is so much to notice and love in the world, and so much more to learn. May we all be blessed regularly with the chance to wander and wonder!
