Summary

The undefined website discusses the release of the King Charles III 50p coin by the Royal Mint, its anticipated value, and its circulation alongside the introduction of plastic notes featuring the King in 2024, while also noting other valuable 50p coins.

Abstract

The Royal Mint is set to distribute approximately 96 million 50-pence silver coins featuring King Charles III by mid-December 2022, marking the first coins to circulate with His Majesty's portrait since his accession to the throne in 2022. These coins are already being bid on eBay, with some reaching £10, despite expert opinions suggesting they may not significantly appreciate in value. The coin's design includes a portrait of King Charles III facing left, adhering to royal tradition, and the reverse side commemorates the late Queen's coronation with the inscription "PEACE, PROSPERITY AND FRIENDSHIP WITH ALL NATIONS." The article also touches on the high value of certain other 50-pence coins and concludes with a disclaimer that the information provided is for interest and entertainment, not professional advice.

Opinions

  • Some collectors and investors anticipate the new King Charles III 50p coin to increase in value, although experts predict only a slight rise above face value.
  • The high bids on eBay for the upcoming coin reflect the enthusiasm of royal fans and collectors, many of whom are likely outside the UK.
  • The article suggests that the true worth of the new coin may be less than the current £10 bid when it is widely released.
  • The author emphasizes that wealth is not just about the value of coins but also includes intangible assets like honesty, drawing on quotes from various individuals to underscore this perspective.
  • The article implies that the excitement around the new coin is akin to the two-sided nature of life, balancing reason and emotion, as well as the past and the future.

King Charles The Third Coin Is Already On Bid On eBay.

The 50p pieces will be the only coins in circulation featuring His Majesty’s portrait and ‘2022’ — the year of his accession to the throne.

The Royal mint is preparing to release about 96 million 50-pence silver coins by the middle of December 2022. This is the new coin that will recognise Charles III's ascension to the throne. No new coin will be released before the year ends.

The new coin will be released when the current one with the late Queen will start to run low.

In anticipation towards that, some are already offering bids for the coin on eBay. How about that? This is because some collectors/investors are already anticipating the new coin to rise significantly in value. Some experts said it might rise a little bit more than the face value, but nothing of any significant resale value.

This unfortunately has not deterred some sellers from listing it on eBay, and the bid is already £10 for a 50-pence coin. We never know what the highest bid will get to before the deal is closed. Many of the bidders are likely to be royal fans collectors outside the UK.

The Design

The 50-pence coin shows the portrait of King Charles III, on his 70th birthday (of course without the crown) on one side, but faces the left instead of the right the Queen’s coin faced. This is in line with the Royal tradition. The other side shows the same design to commemorate the late Queen’s coronation in 1953, and bears the words, ‘’PEACE, PROSPERITY AND FRIENDSHIP WITH ALL NATIONS’’, the same words used in BREXIT coin. It shows four-quarters of the royal arms inside a shield, and between each shield is an emblem of the home nations.

Plastic notes featuring the King are promised in the year 2024.

The Takeaways

  • Coins collection is like two sides of a coin, there are two sides to life: your reason and emotional facets.
  • The coin is likely to sell for under the bid price of £10 in the end when they are released.
  • “Real wealth is not the weight of coins; it is the net value of your honesty” Munia Khan
  • “The medals of the dead heroes are the coins for the future. (Les médailles des héros morts — Sont les pièces pour l’avenir.)” ― Charles de Leusse
  • “When you finally settle for gold, you don’t treasure your copper coins anymore” Muki Osaka
