Kindle your inner fire

A one-step guide to an inquisitive mind.

Do you always wonder how things are getting easier every day? How easier it has become to share messages and thoughts through the internet? How faster the world has become?

The world is changing faster than ever. And we all live in the era of rapid digitization. With the help of the internet and a smartphone, one can conquer the world’s greatest knowledge.

I believe that people, especially teenagers are not utilizing the present time as an opportunity to explore the various corners of the world. Most of them are busy creating cringe content on tiktok, while others are busy roasting those videos. Sometimes, it all feels like a fuss and a waste to provide internet so bluntly.

Everything you need to know is right under your nose, and all you need to do is be curious enough to explore it. If you take a 6-year-old boy and an 18-year-old guy, the curiosity level of the 6 old boys is 100x more than that of an 18-year-old. And why is that so? Because as time passes people stop being curious, they lose their fire, they take cans of red bulls and a binge watch of 20 motivational videos to kindle the inner fire. People struggle to look for ideas, and this is very saddening. I struggle to look for blog topics, Writer’s block is just an excuse to give my brain a break. I lost the zeal that I had a months ago just because I stopped being curious. If only I just did one thing i,e. ask a question for every situation I faced in my life then I never would have gone through any writers’ block. This thought didn’t just ring up a few days ago, I’ve been thinking about this since months.

KINDLE YOUR INNER FIRE

A moment of epiphany….

Do you know how crazily the world is improving day by day? There are crazy inventions been brought up around the world, everyday when I open google news I see a post where it is written ‘A group of IIT XYZ has revolutionised living by creating this super control gadget that will make your ABC work easier’ or ‘ IIT XYZ has come up with a great solution for some ABC health/environment problem.’ Not only the IITs but many scientists, youngsters, and companies are making our lives simpler by their innovations. I don’t understand whether I should be happy or be worried that my mind and body will become lazier because of ease of living. We, humans, are crazy creatures, we are actually blessed to have brains that function in a zeta speed, yet we don’t utilise it. Sometimes I feel that if lives are getting this easier many people will deprecatingly stop exploring new stuff, you can access anything in a smaller matter of time. Is this a boon or a bane?

There is nothing wrong in creating objects that will ease your life but don’t limit your imagination due to the facilities you are being availed. Take the opportunity of the internet to spread a good word, learn a new thing or create something that will benefit the world. The world is an imperfect place, you need to create perfect solutions to make it a better place to live. Try to make initiatives to save the environment, create something that can control global warming. Be curious enough to find solutions for climate change because that’s the major issue going on in the world. Finding out a way for something like food wastage can have a huge impact on the world.

Recently I came across an article which reads ‘The cafe where the food really is rubbish: Restaurant which only uses waste food to create meals opens its doors… and customers pay what they want for their dinner’, the owners of the cafe work on ‘Real junk food project’ to create meals, the restaurants and supermarkets donate leftovers to the cafe. Volunteers collect the unwanted food and turn it into their own meals. – which vary each day but normally include a lump of meat and a vegetarian option, sandwiches and sometimes a dessert. Unwanted food donated so far ranges from bread and broccoli to caviar, truffles, a kilo of smoked salmon, luxury cheeses, extravagant veg and spices. An idea so simple but so impactful.

Not only the cafe but there are community fridges being set up in Britain and cosmopolitan cities like Bangalore and Chennai to fight the food waste crisis. Just a simple idea can make the world a better place but people are too busy playing games and binge-watching unworthy stuff on the internet. If only they were curious to look at the problems the world citizens are facing and they seek to find out the solutions for it, we would be living a greater and intuitive life.

Curiosity is the spark. And behind the spark of every great idea. The future belongs to the curious.

May you have a beautiful soul with a fierce demeanour and a curiosity to know.
