Summary

The article criticizes Kim Kardashian and her family for their recent promotion of their Hulu reality show, highlighting their tone-deaf advice on work ethic amidst a pandemic and questioning the legitimacy of their business ventures.

Abstract

The author of the article expresses frustration with Kim Kardashian's recent interview promoting her family's new Hulu show, where she advised women in business to "get your fucking ass up and work." This statement, made during a pandemic when many people are struggling, has been widely criticized on social media for being out of touch. The author argues that the Kardashians, embodying privilege rather than hard work, have built their businesses on overpriced and poor-quality products, often appropriating ideas from black women and underpaying their workers. The piece suggests that the Kardashians' business acumen is questionable and that they should stick to what they are known for—makeup and celebrity drama—rather than positioning themselves as business experts. The author concludes by dismissing the Kardashians' opinions as a fantasy detached from reality.

Opinions

  • Kim Kardashian's advice is seen as insensitive and ignorant of the current economic climate.
  • The Kardashians are criticized for being privileged and not understanding the value of hard work.
  • Their businesses are viewed as illegitimate, relying on diehard fans and delivering subpar products.
  • The family is accused of underpaying workers, overpricing products, and cultural appropriation.
  • The author prefers to hear business advice from someone like Elon Musk, who is perceived to have a more legitimate business background.
  • The Kardashians are advised to focus on their strengths, such as makeup and reality TV drama, instead of pretending to be business moguls.
  • The article suggests that the Kardashians' lifestyle and opinions are a fantasy and should not be taken seriously.

Kim Kardashian And Her Family Will Always Be Tone Deaf Narcissists

What “businesses” do the Kardashians really have?

Kim Kardashian recently did a promo interview with her family for their new Hulu reality show.

Her advice for women in business?

“Get your fucking ass up and work.”

As expected, social media had a field day with this. Everyone called Kim and her whole family out on their bullshit.

That whole family is the full embodiment of privilege over hard work.

I agree with everyone who said that Kim and her family are spoiled narcissists that don’t understand that we’re still in the middle of a fucking pandemic and people have BEEN working.

But I have a bigger question to ask:

Why are the Kardashians even getting a Hulu show about their “businesses”?

Heck, I’d listen to Elon Musk more about business than the Kardashians. Sure, they’re all weird capitalists, but hey, at least Elon has somewhat of a legitimate business to me.

What do I mean by “legitimate” business?

I mean a business that doesn’t make shitty products and relies on its diehard fans to spend the big bucks on it — which is what the Kardashians have always done.

They’ve always paid their workers dust, delivered horrible products, overpriced their products, and stole all of their business ideas from black women.

Now, I’m not going to use this article as a rallying cry to say we should boycott their show on Hulu.

That ignorant statement by Kim just solidified the fact that the Kardashians are socialites that know nothing about business and spew the same Protestant work ethic mentality Americans have always had.

The Kardashians were better off making reality shows about their constant celebrity antics and drama than a show about their “businesses.”

As Sharon Osborne once said, they should stick to what they know best — makeup.

And they barely know how to get that right too.

Here’s the main point.

The Kardashians are obviously narcissistic, privileged socialites.

Am I surprised Kim said something like this?

No.

Am I surprised they’ll continue to make money off being lazy and not knowing a damn thing about business?

Hell no.

I stopped listening to anything the Kardashians had to say at least 6–7 years ago.

At the end of the day, their opinion is a fantasy just like their lives. And it should be treated as such.
