What you will learn from this article.

Keyword research and search volume competition.

Keyword and search phrase placement importance.

Importance of first impressions and keyword research.

Keyword research and search volume competition.

Keyword research is important, but even more so is keyword search volume prediction. You can choose keywords and search phrases through research with insane amounts of monthly searches. Many even with a low competition factor.

However, checking on the search volume prediction is often overlooked when doing keyword research. But I am not only going to discuss search volume prediction with keyword research. I will also give you the free tools you need to do that.

If possible, try to use both these tools when doing keyword research and checking on search volume predictions. It will make the job a bit “easier” with rather fast results.

Google Keyword Planner.

Keywords Everywhere.

If you are not familiar with the Google keyword planner tool, it is accessible from inside your Google ads account. A free keyword research tool provided by Google.

For the purpose of this demonstration, I am just going to use a keyword like “Facebook”, among the top searched keywords in search engines. As you can see below, 151,000,000 USA searches per month with LOW competition.

151M monthly searches?! Wow, definitely a keyword to go after, right? Well, yes and no. Although that is an impressive monthly search volume with low competition results in the Google keyword planner.

Looking at the keyword (Facebook) search volume prediction tells a different story. It had 633,052,600 USA searches in November of 2012, which I think is a rather steep dive. But this is just to demonstrate.

This is just the basic difference between keyword research and the importance of keyword search volume prediction. You might be targeting the right keywords with huge search volumes.

But will they still have that amount of searches in the months to come? I’m not saying don’t write content about Facebook, please. I have had great responses to my Facebook topic posts.

I am merely demonstrating the difference between keyword search volume, competition, and keyword search volume prediction. But more importantly, the paramount importance of keyword research and search volume prediction combined.

Below is an illustration of the search volume prediction chart for the keyword research on “Facebook” with Keywords Everywhere”. This is the same tool I personally use to keep track of keyword and search phrase search volume prediction.

Personally, I just prefer targeting keywords and search phrases with low to medium competition. With high US search volumes, but also high US search volume predictions. Focusing on the long-term goal.

Keyword and search phrase placement importance.

Keyword research and search volume predictions form part of a much larger picture. Keyword and search phrase placement is of equal importance. They need to be strategically placed in the following areas.

Titles (H1 Headers).

Sub-Titles (H2 Headers)

Content Body (No Specific Volume Requirement).

Always place your primary keywords and search phrases as close to the start of the headers as you can. If possible, preferably as the first word or phrase, forming part of the header.

But you also want to avoid English stop words. This is a rather long list of words to avoid. This is where it gets challenging to write attention-grabbing headlines within the context of the sentence or phrase.

Simply search your browser for the keywords “English stop words”, and you will have access to this rather large list instantly. For instance, the word “The” is not a good way to start your title, it is a stop word.

Importance of first impressions and keyword research.

The first impression of your content is what turns a scroll into a stop! Then turn that scroll into a visitor, the visitor into an interested reader. And after that, most probably a buyer too.

There are 3 areas to focus on when it comes to first impressions. Because that is what your visitor sees first in any feed they scroll. Or on any search result pages. Like with hand-held devices, the image is used as a thumbnail.

Titles (H1 and H2 Headers).

Image (Presentation Or First Image In Article).

Introduction (First 2 to 4 Sentences).

These are your 3 opportunities to create curiosity. Because ranking for a keyword or search phrase is one thing. Maintaining your ranking position will depend on the activity.

The likes, shares, and comments. The audience engagement and content ability to inspire follow-up responses. To the best of my understanding, (please correct me if I’m wrong) activity is how you maintain your ranking position.

With YouTube videos, for instance, I soon found myself ranking my videos in position one, on page one of YouTube rather easily. Within a few seconds, in fact. But, then the bust!

A day or so later, that same high-ranking video is nowhere to be found in the YouTube search results. Because the response to the videos was not quite fireworks, leading me to this conclusion.

I guess the fact that it forms part of user experience (UX), is one of the two most important SEO ranking factors. User experience, and site (mobile especially) load speed. More response shows interest, it makes search engines curious.
