Keno, this is an excellent piece offering, one that's just not for newbies either, a number of the so called vets could learn a thing or to as well.
When I first came to this platform it was to do two things, read and comment. I was literally unknown, so to make myself known, I had to go around getting to know people via their work. I knew before I came here the power of comments, which mean more than claps and the pennies on the dollars to most.
Comments are what not only get you noticed, but they get you followed as well. I spent my first two months reading and commenting on what I read. Eventually my comments would have people follow me before they actually came to my page. Once they came to my page, the majority stayed, and eventually we would establish a great relationship.
The number one thing on any social media platform is commenting because people need to know what others think about their effort, be it negative or positive. Like you said, "have to be willing to give more than you get, when this is the case, you'll eventually get more than you gave, Universal Law.
Reading, always commenting, clapping, and great content of your own, this is how I made it this far. Though I'm not the best writer, I'm nowhere near the worst either. It comes down to an overall appeal that others can feel is real. When what we do comes from the heart, it'll be kind of hard for it not to be heartfelt.
