Opinions

  • The author appears to appreciate creative wordplay, as evidenced by the praise for Robert Gowty's story and the awarding of points for wordplay.
  • There is a playful tone in the mention of 'sopa de sapos' day and the offer of a free entry to Carson Hot Springs, indicating a desire to engage and reward the reader.
  • The content suggests a global perspective, highlighting holidays from multiple countries and cultures beyond the United States, while also poking fun at the U.S.-centric view by stating the world revolves around London, Ontario, Canada, instead of the U.S.
  • The reference to the January challenge winner and the detail about character name changes in the draft suggest a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process is valued by the author.
  • The use of humor is evident, particularly in the naming of the Sirens of Titan characters and the mention of calzoncillos, which adds a light-hearted touch to the content.

a devilishly twisted version of “Sirens of Titan.”

9999smillewpoints just for the word play, alone.

in his first draft, robert named the sirens: Red Floch (Red Cowflock), Tinker Quick and Sim Gymdashian. i knew the last name immediately. then i figured out Tinker Quick quickly, but Red Floch had Celtic Chameleon and me puzzled.

$5 to your ko-fi fund if you can guess who Red Floch is.

(he went on to change it to a different red, Red Nohandsmum, a perfect solution.)
