Keep Your Chocolate Eggs, Mr. Bunny

#ThemeOfTheWeek, two days running

Photo by Daniel Cheung on Unsplash

I have defeated chocolate.

Okay, okay, it’s only been two days, but that’s two days in a row so I declare victory!

Backstory, a couple of years ago, I discovered I’d tipped the scales at 133 kgs. When I converted that into pounds, my native tongue, it scared me something stupid (133kg nears the 300 lb mark; I am 6’5” but still).

Another declaration? I love milk chocolate, it’s my go-to. When the pandemic hit, I hit chocolate. Hard.

With the hope of an epic-pandemic end, I stepped back from chocolate.

Then came the Easter Bunny. I live in a place where finding red meat on Good Friday is harder than avoiding chocolate in a pandemic. The bunny won.

But on the same day Christ arose, I stopped eating chocolate.

Two days and counting; kudos to me.

And kudos to a fellow TBIN writer, Bob Pepe

For more fun from me, Will Hull and inspired by another TBIN writer, Michael Burg, MD
