Keep Hope Alive and Always Remember One Post-Election Saturday in November

Remember the day the election was finally called for Joe Biden? Remember how people of all walks of life took to the streets to celebrate? Recall the feeling of a great burden, a darkness, being lifted off the collective soul of the nation?
It’s those very feelings that soon to be former President Donald Trump and a significant portion of the now cowardly and traitorous republican party have been trying to suffocate for the past 40 days. When we look back on this post-election period, they want us to recall the feelings of hopelessness, frustration and insignificance that was felt when Trump repeatedly challenged the very real will of a majority of the American people with over 50 lawsuits.
All baseless claims with no evidence. Claims that even Rudy Giuliani, the soon to be former President’s lawyer, had to deny when in front of a judge otherwise he would risk disbarment for making accusations without presenting any evidence. Frivolous lawsuits that hopefully were brought to an end with the Supreme Courts final rejection of two final hail Mary lawsuits.
Donald Trump and his co-conspirators are directly attacking what should be remembered as a moment of joy, a moment of collective relief with their traitorous, seditious acts of treason, filing lawsuit after lawsuit attempting to overthrow American democracy itself.
What matters is where out attention was drawn: The republicans trying to overwrite the positive narrative of our collective joy, trying to replace the emotion and meaning of this period in time with their own bitter narrative.
They were trying to undermine our hope. Hope that we do have a voice. Hope that we can collectively cause the change we need to see in society. Hope that we can be better. Hope that we can have a brighter future. Hope that we can care for and respect each other.
The feelings that arose that day in the citizens of the United States of America terrify them. The treasonous republican party is doing everything in its power to gaslight, invalidate, and negate the power of hope and happiness that Americans collectively displayed on that Saturday. They want to negate the very idea that we can have a voice in our democracy and the way our country is run.
They are using psychological warfare tactics, tactics used by malignant narcissists, to control the feelings of those they seek to subjugate and control, us, the citizens of the United States. They want us to feel insignificant. They want us to believe that we don’t matter. They want us to feel like we have no voice. They want us to believe that we have no political power.
All of their bloviating, and baseless lawsuits are trying to instill in us feelings of apprehension and hopelessness. They would like us to feel that no matter what we do, our voices don’t matter, our lives don’t count.
Don’t let them.
We need to maintain the positive feelings of that day moving forward. We need to recall the sense of collective accomplishment. We need to highlight that, for this one election, the voice of the people mattered and that we had the power. That is above all what they are trying to make us forget with their post-election antics.
In trying to create their false narrative, they stole the last 35 days from us. In a period of time that normally would have been filled with ideas, planning and hope for the future, they usurped reality again, getting us to listen to their lies: our voices don’t matter, we aren’t real Americans, we shouldn’t have been allowed to vote in the first place, we are communists and socialists, we are trying to destroy the soul of America.
It is they who are trying to destroy the soul of America. We should have never stopped to listen to these deplorable subhumans as they attempted to plant the seeds of doubt and discord where there is none. We should have harnessed the raw emotion of that Saturday and built progressive coalitions with that power moving forward, instead of looking back and entertaining questions of our own legitimacy.
The repugnant republican party is trying to overshadow our hope and joy, our power, and our mandate with treasonous lies. They want us to recall this post-election period as not one of joy, but one of apprehension and hopelessness.
One thing I’ve learned about narcissists is that they project onto others the crimes that they themselves are guilty of committing. We should investigate suspicious activities by republicans and the Trump team on Election Day. It’s even more telling that Trump seems to really believe that he was supposed to win. As if he cheated, but still lost. That would explain why he seems so disconnected from reality. He expected to win. (I wonder if it’s this idea which placed a 21-day hold on my paycheck.)
It’s almost as if it is a black magic spell they are trying to weave into our psyches, replacing our strength, dignity, respect and hope with hate, lies, fear, and powerlessness. They have overused their fear mongering in keeping the American people deceived and locked out of our own political system for way too long.
It’s time to let the Trumpian nightmare end.
