Keep Calm, Laugh On!

Is laughter really the best medicine?

I have been guilty of watching the procedural shows, dramas and thrillers. But what I need in life is more laughter. Sitcoms, comedies and even cat videos really are the way to go. They induce laughter and have amazing emotional and physical benefits.

Keep Calm, Laugh On: Laughter produces endorphins, which are one of the “happy” brain chemicals. They actually help to reduce physical pain. It helps boost your immune system, decrease blood pressure and ward off disease. And laughter even helps to build up your abdominal muscles. That’s a nice bonus that I could use more of!

But what about emotional pain? Laughter helps with that too. It decreases the number of stress hormones in your system, which helps with mild and chronic cases of depression.

Remember… It works if you work it, you’re worth it!
