WRITING PROMPT #19
Katie’s Garden
Close your eyes and transport yourself to anywhere on Earth. Describe your surroundings: what are you wearing? Where are you? What does the rest of your day look like?

I’ve chosen to magically transport myself to Katie’s garden. I walk with Katie through her garden. Memories of my auntie’s garden surface — I haven’t seen it since I was 6 years old. The greenery is interspersed with every colour and shape imaginable — corn and grapes and zucchini — but there’s a lot of other yummy food growing there.
I’m wearing a loose summer house dress — it doesn’t matter if it gets dirty — and Katie for sure won’t care what I look like. After walking around her garden and finding plants I’ve never seen before, Katie and I sit down in the shade sipping her homemade herbal tea. I start to feel drowsy, and Katie’s voice drifts through to me and lulls me to sleep.
What the hell is in that tea?
