Teaser tale

Kate must dominate.

“I’ve never seen a weak man volunteer for a thrashing.”

“Are you enjoying your meal, Kate?”

“You picked a lovely restaurant, Simon.”

I judged his suitability with no time for the wrong type. He didn’t realise I was a falcon hunting my prey. My synapsis exploded when I pictured him dangling deliciously to my whim.

“What’s your ideal woman?”

“Umm, well, I wasn’t expe-.”

“Most don’t on a first date. You must know why you asked me out, though?”

My trap would quickly weed out weak candidates. Too many approached me with the wrong mindset.

“You’re beautiful, intelligent an-”

“That’s just well nurtured genes. Why do I turn you on, Simon?”

“You’re fast off the mark, Kate.”

“Do I scare you?”

“A bit.”

“Are you kinky?”

“Jesus, is this how you interview a boyfriend?”

I eyeballed him, pleased he never averted his.

“I’m surprised you don’t do the same.”

“It’s intimidating.”

He lifted his wineglass, sipping the sensual dark merlot lubricant I’d ordered, obscuring his face. It was a mistake, but not a fatal one, yet.

“Are you curious to know my heart’s desires?”

“On a first date?”

His hand shook, and he held the glass to his mouth, too long, too defensively.

“This could be a monumental waste of time. Wouldn’t you prefer to know what you’re getting?”

“Well, I guess.”

“I want a powerful man who’ll submit to me absolutely.”

“Fu-”

“I hate potty mouth, Simon.”

“Okay.”

“I abhor selfishness. I don’t like untidiness or men who misbehave, then expect a free pass.”

“Do you discipline your boyfriend’s.”

“Consensually? Yes!”

“Why?”

“Sometimes to maintain or promote good behaviour. Other times it’s purely disciplinarian.”

“I see.”

I wanted Simon to consider what I’d said. Either he was strong and submissive, or I was out of the door. The choice was his.

“Do you like weak men, Kate?”

I cocked my head in thought, sipping the merlot. He was falling short.

“Submission is strength and honesty, not a weakness. I’ve never seen a weak person take a thrashing.”

“What if they don’t consent?”

“Then they don’t wear the moniker of Kate’s boyfriend.

“You’re very sure about yourself.”

“I’m very sure about what I want. There’s a big difference.”

“It seems selfish that you want to be so dominant.”

“Why?”

“What does the guy get?”

“You didn’t ask till now and yet you judged me.”

“Touche.”

“My boyfriend gets my absolute love, devotion, and care. I won’t fail or betray him. He gets my full attention as a number one priority, excluding everything else, my protection too.”

“Why does he need your protection?”

“For the same reason, I need his.”

“I like that idea.”

“No you don’t.”

“How do you know?”

“We’re talking in third person. You don’t see yourself submitting.”

“You’re insightful, Kate.”

“I’ll pay and leave now, Simon, because above all, I hate liars.”
