Karen’s Weekly TechNology Hits Review
#personal #futuristic #culture
Welcome to my weekly review of technology gems. I was honoured to be asked by the founder of the Technology Hits publication to highlight my favourite reads. Editor of Technology Hits beat me to the publishing button yesterday, however, I think that the articles we both chose strengthen our cases for how good they are!
Firstly, I’d like to embrace the new short-form stories that burst onto the Medium scene this week — in my world anyway — here’s one from Aldric Chen. He asks, “What is the right question?”
He also rather cunningly links to two of his stories in another publication. This is an excellent way to share your work published on other publications with TechNology Hits or any other publication audience.
We all need help sometimes to manages our expenses, I know I do, especially at expensive times of the year like Christmas. I wasn’t aware of any banking apps other than the one for my bank until I opened Haucem Sadki’s article.
Doing your accounts is a particularly long and tedious task. However, a well-controlled budget is the key to better allocating expenses and avoiding difficult ends of the month.
Fellow editor, Liam Ireland, experiences frustration, not with writers but technology!
I have a confession to make. I seem to have developed a love hate relationship with my wife’s Applemac, or anything else to do with new technology. Me and computers or mobile phones just do not get on.
Landon Lester gives us some hope and inspiration for next year. He writes on a subject close to my heart. Changing the way we live and work to make the rich richer is crucial to a better way of life for many of us.
I write to argue that institutional change remains the key to building a better future. And though that type of change can be deeply challenging, it’s not entirely impossible. The collective will can and does shift, which in turn forces necessary changes.
Salman Amin tells us a bit about how to use WordPress and tags. I’d love to read more about WordPress because I find it very frustrating and overly complicated to do simple tasks on my blog.
Search engine optimization helps increase your blog’s visibility by increasing your blog’s page rank on search engines.
With so many articles about and on the subject of writing, I was delighted to find this informative piece on reading and books! Jason Ward
The latest change in reading and literary consumption has now been underway for a couple of decades and it threatens to be as huge a disruption as any before. The internet and devices such as e-readers, smartphones and tablets have been dramatically altering the way we consume words.
That’s all for this week, folks. I’m looking forward to reading your stories and choosing my favourites for next week’s review.
May the force be with you.
