Kaleidoscope
kalos (“beautiful”), eïdos (“form”), and skopeïn (“to view”).

Whenever I think about a kaleidoscope, I’m transported back to my past. As a child, I gazed into that tin tube for a length of time, enchanted and mesmerised by the everchanging shapes, patterns, and colours so bright. Endlessly changing with just a simple shake or twist. Loose fragments creating intrinsic designs not to be repeated twice in quick succession. Enthralled by the simplicity of such a toy that could bring such lasting joy, then and even now. Whenever I think about my kaleidoscope, nostalgia kicks in. I clearly remember the excitement, the anticipation of what would be revealed, as I peer down that tube of delight which brought me such joy.
