Summary

Major global players like Amazon, Roblox, and K-Pop are integrating AI into their platforms to democratize creativity and game development, while AWS and Huggingface are collaborating to expand the accessibility of open-source machine learning.

Abstract

The landscape of AI is rapidly evolving with the entry of industry giants such as Amazon, Roblox, and K-Pop, who are leveraging AI to revolutionize their respective fields. Roblox is set to introduce AI tools to simplify game creation, potentially enabling all users to become game developers. In the realm of entertainment, the first virtual AI K-Pop band, Mave, has been introduced, showcasing AI's capability to produce music and content that resonate with human audiences. Meanwhile, AWS and Huggingface are partnering to accelerate the adoption of generative AI across industries by scaling AI in the cloud and making machine learning models more accessible. This collaboration aims to democratize AI technology, making it available to a broader range of customers and reducing the barrier to entry for creating generative AI applications.

With Amazon, Roblox, and K-Pop, the next squad of global players is entering the AI playing field. Will AI-powered creativity become the new standard sooner than we thought?

Roblox & AI game creation

If you happen to have kids, you know Roblox. The online gaming company became a Goliath in the market by allowing people to create their own games and play them with their friends. Until now, this required some knowledge of 3D object design and scripting, but that seems to be over: The online gaming giant plans to integrate generative AI tools to make game creation more accessible and intuitive, and to help non-developers create games too! According to the Roblox press release, the company hopes that in the future every user of the platform can be a game developer.

The World’s First Virtual AI K-Pop Band

Kpop: that’s colorful images, catchy melodies and synchronized choreography.

Sounds like something our pattern-solving AI friends could handle, right?

Say hello to “Mave”, a joint project of Kakao Entertainment and Netmarble F&C and the first virtual AI idol group, whose first single has just been released:

Huggingface teams up with AWS

AWS, the leading service provider for cloud-based applications, is joining forces with community-driven AI/ML app development service Huggingface. The new partnership aims to accelerate the availability of open source machine learning by scaling AI in the cloud.

“Generative AI has the potential to transform entire industries, but […] the technology [is] out of reach for all but a select few companies. Hugging Face and AWS are making it easier for customers to access popular machine learning models to create their own generative AI applications with the highest performance and lowest costs.” — Adam Selipsky, CEO of AWS
