Just Weights

How do we stack up in bearing one another’s burdens?

If we shoulder not

the twin burdens

of justice & mercy

in the face

of

looming or lingering

atrocity,

shall we be surprised

when instead we shudder

under the triple weights

of hostility,

tragedy &

ignominy?
