Just List It! MASTER DIRECTORY for Your Story Lists

Do you have a cool list of stories you want to promote?

If you’re anything like me, you tend to have trouble locating stories when you want them. Going back and looking for a specific story is something that is time consuming, and also super annoying.

Luckily, for ME: I stumbled onto a better way to help me locate certain stories, if I want to recall a statement or a specific point.

Luckily for YOU: As usual, I figured out a way to help some of you and your stories benefit from my latest idea.

In order to do this, once again, I’ll be employing the awesome “list” feature. Lately, I’ve been using this really cool Medium resource more and more.

So let me tell you what I’ll be doing, then I’ll share how you can take part, and promote some of your totally awesome lists — or even just an okay one.

Get creative and make all the lists you need!

The great thing about using the list feature, is that you can get creative and make all the lists you want or need.

  • You can create generic labels and titles that are tag related, or you can customize the names of your lists.
  • Whatever types of lists you decide to create and compile is totally up to you. If you want, you can even create a private list, for your eyes only.

But why do that if it’s not to your advantage? When you make your lists available to the reading community, you can help improve your viewing stats, and at the same time, entertain, or help your fellow writers.

It’s really easy to do. For instance, I selected 10 writers from among my favorite, and loyal followers, and I created 10 different lists. Each list currently contains no less than four of their stories.

  • These lists will act as folders for all the future stories I decide to save from these same writers. How cool is that?

Instead of simply naming the lists after the writers, I created unique names, that speak directly to the characters and personalities of these writers — or at least the way they seem to me when we interact. 😄

Anyone who follows these writers on a regular basis will know exactly what I mean.

[# of Stories currently in each list is posted next to the “View list” button]

Notice the writers I listed here:

Some insightful and thought provoking stories from the scholarly mind of Ms. Cate Monaghan. Prepare for some serious enlightenment. Cate Monaghan

David Delivers

Stories from the man I call the “delivery guy” because he’s one of my most loyal fans and is always the first to show up on the scene (of everyone’s stories). Where he finds the time for his creative and imaginative writing is truly beyond me. David Perlmutter

Deb’s Journey

My girl Deb continues to blossom in her writing, as well as her love of writing. These are some of the stories I enjoyed reading from this sensitive writer who shares heartfelt stories. Deb Fiore

Enjoy some cool gardening tips from Crown Princess Letta. This Medium member is a happy homesteader in North Carolina, and not your typical anything. Crown Princess Letta

Mike’s Mischief

Read some of these relatable stories from Susan Wheelock, including her infamous penis story that will amuse you, yet piss you off if you’re a woman. Susan Wheelock

What’s Up Doc?

Illumination’s Dr Mehmet Yildiz has successfully branded himself and his publications as the best places to go on Medium, when you need answers about the stuff that really counts.

Another effective way to share your linked lists

The above card style links like I used for the 10 writers above, are just one way to make the lists accessible to readers.

  • Of course, the other way is to simply cite the names of the various lists, and figure out a way to organize them logically.

For example, you can choose to designate the list to a specific category, and afterwards, just alphabetize each category entry.

That’s like the format I use below. This makes it easy for me to return on a regular basis and update this page with more lists.

CLAIM YOUR SPOT ON THIS PROMOTIONAL PAGE!

For an unspecified time, I’ll be compiling a MASTER LIST of some of the coolest lists created on Medium. After I receive enough of them, I’ll organize and publish the list for anyone and everyone’s convenience.

SO WHY NOT PROMOTE & PUBLICIZE IT HERE IN A RESPONSE?

You can have multiple lists included on the Master List when it’s finally published. All you have to do is leave the LINK to each one in a RESPONSE. Do it all at once, or return to the page. Your choice.

So get creative, and imaginative if you want to. In fact, go BAT CRAZY!

Feel free to also indicate a category and/or tag for the list to be categorized in properly. Let’s get your stories listed and see how things go.

😄 SPECIAL NOTE: Some of you may be familiar with my new master submission page, created for responses to all my promos, surveys, challenges, and submissions.

Although submitting your List on the current page is easier for you, and the preferred method. I’ll still accept it if you accidentally submit it on the new: Everything Goode: All Writer Requests & Submission Page

Final Thoughts

Give it a try, and CREATE a few specialized lists. Watch and see don’t they come in handy. But remember, if you want them to be seen and enjoyed by others, you have to make your lists accessible.

Keep in mind, with your lists, you need to constantly be on the lookout for creative ways to let readers know they exist, and are available to be viewed.

There are tons of fun ways to take advantage of the Medium list feature.

Feel free to use the format of this story, and create a page that contains some of your favorite writers, and a list of some of their stories.

If you allow this feature to help you keep up with the stories you read, they’ll always be right there at your fingertips, just a list away.

Thanks for reading…
