Just in Time
Prompt — quality time
Measured by scarcity but constantly spent, we manage segments or embrace fluidity.
Expectations marked the tempo of my days. I whispered invocations marking my pace.
Moving to the present I found my voice, declared my boundaries and found a way.
When I set aside fear and embarked on a ritual of meditation to refill my soul, I found the value of time alone.
If you enjoyed this poem, have a look at my book, We Swallow Light. It’s an exploration of events in a past life and a refreshing take on overcoming pain and the joy of finding love.
Thanks Jupiter Grant for mentioning me in your response and challenging me to write about quality time.
Thanks for the original prompt Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她)
