Just Another Day in Paradise

One lady, one computer…and two cats

As you can see, I’m living a glamorous life! Quite a different one from my normal. And now with word from my employer that our doors are closed until May 1st, guess this will be my NEW normal. At least for the moment.

My daughter stopped by today and snapped these photos. She was cooking and I was working. I realize social distancing is in force but she stopped by for some toilet paper. I feel funny typing this… but it is something she is in need of and I was able to pick up in my area for her. We can all relate.

Had she eaten? No, so time to make something. Twenty something yet the mothering never stops. At the stove, she snapped a moment in time.

What is becoming many moments in time as I adjust to life away from work. I’m sitting at my computer, my life line. The same computer that I wrote about with too many tabs open, that goes too slow…

…My NEW best friend, keeping me connected with the outside world — from the inside. I sit in front of it and as the computer screen shares it’s light, it lights my world.

I’m emailing, watching webinars, on social media — and now writing. I used to enjoy writing when I was younger but life got in the way. A life that had it’s good times — and bad. A life that I would not trade for anything!

Through the ups and the downs, I buckled up and kept going. Gratitude always holding me up. Gratitude and love… And both are with me now.

I’m going from a place once filled with doing to just being. I will share the link below of my recent story on this. I bring it up now as this as this photo was not staged.

On my island, are a few books I’m reading. Top one is about learning to be still. This book was recommended to me by a friend.

It is also the last delivery I received from Amazon just before they started limiting the delivery of non essentials. Guess the universe wanted to make sure I did indeed receive it.

The book beneath is on Energy Medicine by Donna Eden. As a functional medicine health coach, I am fascinated by the alternative forms of medicine. The forms that can bring about true healing, not just band-aiding symptoms. I’ll save that for another story…

…this story is about my boys — and me now together 24/7. As a stay at home mom for many years, they were used to me always being around. Rascal is 17 and Ed will soon be 12. Our family cats that my daughter brought into our lives.

Please note that normally I am in sweat pants and a tee, but I needed to reach out to a friend who texted that she emailed me, so I just jumped on the computer. My gosh, I am actually making excuses…

As I adjust to my current situation, I am trying to keep as much as my old routine as possible. I will admit, I am taking a break from makeup, which is pretty nice. It’s been freeing…

Do I feel a little more free at this time??

I’m free to write more — and read. Free to get outside and walk my neighborhood. Free to rest (that still feels really indulgent…). Free from my alarm clock. Free to spend time with the boys. All things that I had limited time to do before.

The gifts I am noticing in my every day world. More free time as well as enjoyment… for free. And feeling free to share a moment in my life — including pictures with you. I’m not a fan of pictures of myself, just ask my business coach Thomas Anderson. He’s been trying to get me in more pictures for my website…

Maybe I’m starting to open up more… huh…

And as I open up, I appreciate the comfortable atmosphere on this platform. If you are interested, (as I mentioned earlier), here is my story on my computer and connections:

Since the book was mentioned, here is the story of me looking for stillness:

I am so grateful for this community that I am now apart of! I appreciate all the love and support I am receiving…thank you! So many fabulous articles shared here, thank you for spending time with mine!

Dr Mehmet Yildiz — what a perfect time to create a community of connection. Here we share our creativity and come together as one. Before Illumination, my stories were filled with crickets. Now they are filled with claps and highlights…

Until next time~

Sending you light, love — and smiles during this time of a NEW normal.
