Drabbles are short, being only 100 words. Please stay for at least 30 seconds or more so the story is counted as read. Read, clap, and highlight to let me know you’ve been here. Thank you!

“I am absolutely adamant! You must find some way to agree, or I will have to declare a mistrial!” Judge Marchalla stormed out of the courtroom — the jurors left.

There I sat, wondering where I had gone wrong. I appealed to each juror’s sensibilities, presented the evidence flawlessly, and put him on the stand purposely enraging him to demonstrate that temper. Now, sick to my stomach, I sit, waiting to find out if my efforts were in vain.

After three more hours, the jury reenters the courtroom. Reading the verdict, Judge Marchalla asks, “How do you find the defendant?”
