June Writing Challenge

June 1st — Day 1

Can you believe it is already June? It seems like May just flew by. This pandemic has born struggles and triumphs and in the midst of it I have found my true, inner voice.

For those of you who don’t already know, I gave myself a writing challenge for the month of May, writing every day and posting my work on Medium (and on Facebook). This has increased my readers, some of whom read my work daily. If you have followed my May writing challenge, thank you! It means the world to me.

For the month of June I’m going to do the same thing. This time there are others who want to join in my challenge! I am excited about this! If you would like to join, here are a few “guidelines”.

June Writing Challenge

  1. Write every day. That is the goal. But if you miss a day, don’t give up. Just get back on the bike and start writing again. Post your piece on Medium and then I’d recommend sharing it on Facebook too (or you may prefer Twitter or Linkdin.) You gain more views when you share your work on social media.
  2. Write whatever you want to write! It can be a poem, an article, a short story, anything. Write from the heart, from the soul. Let it all out and share it with us.
  3. Please be respectful in your writing. We should write pieces that inspire, not drag people through the mud. Be honest and kind in your writing. Let’s leave bigotry in the dust.
  4. Tags are important. When you write a piece to share in our writing challenge, make sure to tag me so I don’t miss it. (You may choose to tag others as well. That’s fine, just don’t write a super long list or you may irritate a few people. Keep your tags precise.)
  5. At the end of your piece, include a link to this piece so others can enjoy and join. (If you forget this it’s not the end of the world. But sharing this challenge with others makes it more fun.)
  6. Lastly, if you are interested in participating, please leave a comment below so I can get an idea of who’s joining. We already have a few people but the more the merrier, so if you’re thinking about it, just try it out!

This month is the threshold of summer, a time of vacation. And I already have travel plans for my birthday at the end of this month. So, I will miss a few days during June, but that’s okay. It’s okay if you can’t write ever day. Just do your best.

I’m looking forward to reading your work! Let’s start this month out strong and get to writing! (Don’t forget to tag me!) This challenge has officially begun! Good luck!
