The journey has begun and we are all part of the race of life. In this race, there are a number of hurdles on an obstacle course. Every hurdle needs to leap over if we are going to win this race. In this competition, we have many competitors, who are all taking part in this obstacle course called life.

You jump over the first hurdle, then run a little further and leap over the second, the third hurdle. The more obstacles we leap over the harder the race seems to become for its competitors. As we approach the middle of the race, we are now jumping over the hurdles mechanically. We have forgotten the reasons for taking part in this race.

An hour has passed. There are just five more hurdles left for us to jump over. We now remember the reason we are taking part in this race. We have a destination in mind. We are going to rest at the end of this race. However, we need to be focused on the present, the here and now.

The runners are all running at high speed on the racetracks. They are now giving the race the last burst of energy as they jump over the hurdles and the final lap is just a few minutes away. There are several runners who had begun the race with great zeal but stopped and dropped out of the race.

The runners are now fully focused on the race ahead. They can visualize the end as they keep running. The winner runs past the ribbon at the end of the race. She gets first place in the race, as the second and the third runners run over the finishing line.

What motivates you in life as a runner and jumper as you take part in this race of life? Is it the promise and the hope of what lies ahead or is it the smell of the reward and the fulfillment of your ambitions? In this world of life’s hurdles and obstacles, I keep focusing on the purpose of my life and that motivates me to keep writing and sharing my ideas with the world.
