Joyful Day
A rondeau looking ahead to my mother’s 80th birthday

On the 19th of December A day all loved ones remember Larry and Julie beamed with mirth the day Nancy Robin came to Earth and began a life oh so tender
Your heart filled with the heat of embers for each and every family member All celebrate your unsurpassed worth Joyful day
You fill the world with such splendor that all bow before you in surrender Empathy and compassion never dearth You fill the world with these from here to Perth Unconditional love you engender Joyful day
Thank you Ravyne Hawke for the prompt to write a “Joyful _____” rondeau. I had not written one before and when I looked at the form it seemed ripe to use for the birthday poem.
