Journal
A haiku

Seasons trigger thoughts emotions can run rugged journals offer care
Writing in a journal can help you discover a better understanding of who you are becoming. Self-reflection is important in becoming a better person.
By remembering your unique experiences, both positive and negative, you will find a deeper awareness. Keeping a record helps you recall your experiences which can bring you to a place of living fully.
Are you longing to live an authentic life? Taking the time to be with yourself isn’t always the easy way. However, by embracing your inner wisdom, you will discover the answers you have searched to find.
Living an authentic life
Living an authentic life means coming from a genuine place within. It is when your actions and words are in harmony with your beliefs.
Authenticity is being yourself! It’s not being a phony or changing in ways that go against your truths. It’s not listening to others who live with entirely different values than yours. Authenticity is being true to yourself!
Writing in a journal has been my refuge and saving grace. I have written in a journal for twenty-three years. It’s a place of great rest and reflection for me.
A journal can bring rest
Sometimes when I wake up, the day can start in chaos. Other days are more relaxing. The way our days begin significantly impacts how they will turn out.
Because of the uncertainty in life, writing in my journal has become extremely important to me. No matter how I feel when I pick up my journal, by the time I put it down, I’m constantly rejuvenated and filled with new hope and inspiration.
Some seasons in my life, I have spent hours per day in my journal. During other seasons I might only spend a few minutes. My journal is freeing, and I’m thankful for my life and how it guides me.
Some days our emotions can make us feel like we are on a wild ride. By writing these times down, awareness of them can bring us to solid ground again.
A caring takeaway
Journals offer a caring takeaway after a time of solitude. Self-reflection is the only place to find the answers to some of your troubles.
Although talking to others can help too. However, if someone’s values or beliefs are different than yours, then you can sometimes walk away more confused.
There are going to be those seasons in life where you are feeling more sensitive or even perplexed. During these times self-reflection is even that much more important.
If you have never written in a journal or if your journal has gotten a little dusty, I encourage you to begin anew! It’s never too late to relax and sit quietly writing in your journal no matter day or night. Might you begin Now?

I’m grateful for my journal. It never fails or disappoints me. I’m writing this haiku and story as a thank you note for my journal. I hope to inspire others to write in a journal if they are feeling alone.
Using self-discovery through writing has made me realize I’m never truly alone. There is always me, myself, and I. We build each other up to move on in life with a refreshed spirit. Plus, it’s my prayer journal, and God is always with me.
