Joint Locks
Get the lock first
There are joint locks used in most martial arts systems. There may be different ways to get there, but the locks are similar. They work with body mechanics.
A lot of students have trouble with them, but only because they tried to rush or use muscle and speed to make them work.
That’s not necessarily the problem if it’s not working for you. The biggest thing that anyone can do to make their joint locks work better is to get the lock first. Once you have the lock applying pressure will work every time. Don’t get me wrong, speed and muscle are always helpful, but it doesn’t take either to make them work. Once you’ve got the lock, apply the pressure and it will work.
