I read lots and lots of stories on Medium, mostly of my existing followers, but of course, I read a lot of writers who are non-followers also.

I love a good headline, and once I’m there, the content of the writing is what makes me stay and read more. Don’t you just love it when you find a really good story that makes you want tell everybody about it?

That’s a good feeling for sure, and that’s also a good reason for you to do a little more, to make sure this story gets a boost. If you did, you could be one link in a long chain of writers who are doing their part to spread worthwhile stories.

I promote my own work and support other writers in the same way

It’s no secret that I’m one of the prolific writers on Medium, because I say it every chance I get. And why shouldn’t I? I’m proud of my 400 published stories.

Not all of them are long, deep, or profound. Many of my newer ones are the short form stories that I love to write and read so much.

But the majority of my stories all provide some type of benefit to the reader, other than the chance to enjoy my charming wit (see).

Having so much content, I have to constantly be doing innovative things to keep up with the titles and helping readers know what all I have in my catalogue.

I also spend a great deal of time on stories and activities to help me promote my stories online, whenever and wherever I can.

The really super cool thing about how I support my followers, is the fact that I try to promote them the same way I do myself.

I designate specific times and days to do meaningful promotion for them and their writing.

Everything I do is designed to try and help give a little lift, or boost to them and the stories they work so hard to write and earn money for.

In truth, not all my attempts to do creative things to pull a lot of writers into what I’m doing has been successful. But I’ll keep trying, because I’ve finally gotten over my negative tendency to be so impatient.

That is why I’ve been providing my 3 publication features on DAILY JUSTISS and having a weekly routine of showing off other writers’ stories.

Whenever I promote stories outside of Medium, I write about it later on, and provide a way for the writers and their followers to view my efforts in behalf of them.

I need my followers to know how much I truly appreciate them.

I believe in going the extra mile to show my appreciation to my followers that support me. What about you? Do you try to think of ways to show your support?

Doing this requires taking time out of your already busy schedule, but trust me, when you do it, you’ll see that it’s definitely worth it and you’ll be hooked. This happened to me.

Currently, I’m trying to be a good mentor to Crown Princess Letta, my first Medium referral member. I invited her to join with my affiliate link and she’s so excited; she set up her Let Us Garden publication the very first week!

Final Thoughts

Writers on Medium who make it a point to try and help new members are to be applauded, and I feel proud to count myself as one of them.

You can’t succeed in anything you do in life, if your only motivation is to benefit yourself.

If you want to find ways to show appreciation and support for your followers and readers of your stories, remember:

  • Learn to promote other stories like you promote your own
  • Figure out what day or times work best, for you to focus on supporting your followers and readers.
  • Think of creative ways to go the extra mile, by supporting those who are loyal and support you on a regular basis.
