Summary

John's Aussie ToT Challenge is an interactive article by an unnamed author inviting readers to participate in an Australia-themed "This or That" challenge, where participants must choose between two uniquely Australian options across various categories.

Abstract

The article titled "John’s Aussie ToT Challenge" introduces a fun and engaging challenge for readers, particularly those familiar with Australian culture. It was inspired by a comment made to Denise Kendig, who then nominated the author to create an Australian version of the "This or That" challenge. The challenge consists of 20 questions that require participants to choose between two distinctly Aussie options, ranging from iconic landmarks and food to celebrities and dangerous wildlife. The author encourages participants to publish their responses, regardless of their nationality, and provides guidelines on how to participate, including copying the questions, answering them, and tagging the author in their responses. The article also includes beautiful images of Australian landscapes and wildlife, sourced from Unsplash and Pixabay, to visually represent the country's charm and uniqueness.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the challenge will be more relatable and enjoyable for those familiar with Australian culture, as evidenced by the creation of the challenge in response to a lack of Australian-oriented options in previous challenges.
  • The author is open to participants who are not Australian, indicating an inclusive approach to the challenge and a willingness to share Australian culture with a broader audience.
  • The use of images from Unsplash and Pixabay suggests that the author values visual representation and the enhancement of the article's appeal through high-quality photography.
  • By tagging specific individuals and encouraging others to involve Australian writers, the author shows a desire to foster a sense of community and engagement among readers and writers on the platform.
  • The author's request for participants to tag them in responses indicates an interest in following the challenge's reach and engaging with participants' answers.
  • The mention of Google as a resource for those unfamiliar with certain Australian items reflects the author's practical approach to ensuring that all participants can engage with the challenge, regardless of their knowledge level.

Denise Kendig is responsible for this challenge. I had said in a comment on her response to one of (Brett Jenae Tomlin) BJ’s ToT challenges that I couldn’t participate because a lot of the choices were American oriented, and I didn’t even know what some of the things mentioned were, let alone choose one over another.

I mentioned off-hand that it would be good if someone published an Australia themed This or That challenge. Well, silly me … she threw that right back at me and said she nominated me to do it.

I couldn’t really say no to my own idea, could I? So, I had no choice but to try to come up with the following Aussie flavoured ToT challenge.

For those of you who have never tried a ToT challenge, here’s how to play:

  1. Copy and paste the list of questions at the end of this article into your own article titled something like: “John’s Aussie ToT Challenge”. It can be the subtitle if you prefer.
  2. Answer all 20 questions. You must choose one of the options for each question (‘neither’ or ‘both’ if you must)
  3. Publish your article/response wherever you like. In a publication that allows challenges, or under your own name.
  4. You don’t have to be Australian to participate. Just do your best.
  5. If you don’t know what something is, feel free to ask me, or just Google it.
