Jimmy’s Not Here This Year
But Grandma still bedecks my holidays

The Sweetest of Dreams
Dance on an Aluminum Sleigh.
Christmas Baubles — trees and stars —
thick with Delicious Sugary Dross.
We once called this Holiday Party a Jimmy Jubilee.
But I’m reminded it’s Your Little Sister who loves those silly sprinkles.
So instead we’ll dust sugar — both Red and Green — across our Christmas Landscape.
Never perfected — but a perfect afternoon Assembly Line of Christmas Cheer.
Crumbs, frosting, Sweetness — scattered over
the Ceramic Canvas of My Floor. A random ruckus, which always makes sense.
Articles of Confection — sometimes Confederation and Collaboration, by necessity.
Grandma Vera’s always here. Even after she’s disappeared until Next Year.
