Jack-O’-Lanterns
A haiku

There’s a plethora colors and shapes to embrace 0h, jack-o’-lanterns
Every year there are tons of pumpkins. Did you ever wonder how many, to be exact? With a bit of searching, this is what I discovered. There are over 1.5 billion pounds of pumpkins produced yearly in the United States. The top pumpkin-bearing states are California, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Soon these treasures will be enjoyed by many people, either by carving or painting on their specially selected slates. Will the expressions designed on these beauties tell a lot about our moods? What do you think?
Will you choose a happy, sad, surprised, scary, or zombie face for your jack-o-lantern?
I’m not sure yet; I’m feeling a little moody lately! My grandson is looking forward to painting his pumpkin. What might yours transform into by Halloween?

I’m writing this as a thank you note to all our friendly farmers who provide many hours of creative fun for folks with their beautiful pumpkins.
I also want to thank Trista Signe Ainsworth for her creative prompts and joy-filled publication, Thank You Notes.
