Listen Sweetie, this is a great story and you are a wonderful writer.

But I just can’t take it anymore.

I give up.

I’ve gone back to the 1960’s.

I chanced across the “Ethel” documentary by Robert Francis Kennedy’s posthumously-born daughter, Rory (named after the last of the Irish kings):

Then I got accelerated along this route when I watched the video of RFK’s announcement of the death of Martin Luther King.

It is the most beautiful and heartfelt speech ever made.

Only Robert Kennedy, with his personal experience of violence in his family could calm the Indianapolis crowds on that terrible night of MLK’s assassination:

I’ve regressed to simpler, more elegant and dignified times.

Where Jacqueline is the First Lady.

Where presidential speeches and political hustings light a fire in my heart.

NOT this kind of fire:

I am cleansing my spirit of the terrible smut of the past year.

I am binge-watching Kennedy documentaries.

I’ve been completely sucked into this microcosm.

Last January, I decided to watch the Alt-Inauguration:

I am planning to celebrate the centenary of the birth of John Fitzgerald Kennedy on Monday by focusing on his life and his words. I’m going into town now to buy a book of his speeches.

(Note: I wound up buying “The Dark Side of Camelot” instead)

You cannot see smut and fail to be contaminated. I’ve had enough of this (do not click this link if you want to stay pure):

No more “wars-on-nouns” like Isis, Journalism, drugs, etc.

Let us confront tyranny, poverty, disease and war itself as JFK urged us to.

I welcome the responsibility.

I am ready for the long twilight struggle.
