I started website flipping about 7 years ago. My first website flip took about 2–3 months to happen and when the sale happened, a lightbulb moment happened.

Less than a year later, I was flipping site #2. Then, site #3.

So and so forth.

It stuck!

And now, 7 years later, here I am, still flipping websites.

Here’s what flipping sites is really about, how it works, income potential and more on my personal experience…

Website flipping — What’s it really like?

I’m going to give it to you raw and real.

Here’s the step-by-step on how website flipping starter sites works:

• Choose a niche
• Build your website
• Grow your website
• Sell your website

Choosing a niche

This is what the process is like…

Picking the niche can be one of the longest parts of the process. It doesn’t have to be, but, a lot of times, it takes some time to think about what you want to build your site around.

You can choose an interest, hobby, or passion.

Or, you can choose a totally different topic that you think might do well to build a website around.

I see a lot of new website flippers spend a lot of time on this.

You can always pivot or change your mind after the site starts so don’t stress out too much about this. Change can happen later.

The site build process

It’s fun, honestly.

You get to create something from scratch.

You can flex your creativity, choose how you want the site laid out, what colors you want, web design, etc.

Keep in mind, no coding is needed for this process.

Site growth

You can spend as much time on this process as you want.

I tend to focus on starter sites so, I don’t spend very long in the growth phase.

But, if you choose to do longer term website flips over several months or several years, this step is important.

Selling your site

This process is very straightforward, especially with Flippa.

They have really innovated a lot, over the years.

Flippa has built-in tools to make your website listing the best possible. You can even write the description with AI that Flippa offers.

Picking the perfect sale price doesn’t have to wreck your brain. After your listing is live, there’s still quite a bit of editing you can do, if you choose so, you don’t have to feel stuck after you hit Publish on your site listing.

Is the income potential of website flipping worth it?

The short answer, yes.

My last site flip I shared publicly sold for $1,400! That was my first site flip of the year!
