I’ve built dozens of blogs — Here’s what I’ve learned from it all

After creating, growing, and monetizing dozens of blogs. Here are some takeaways I’ve learned.

I share this to be totally transparent and pull the veil back on how a blogger operates and runs a blogging business.

Let’s get to it…

What I’ve learned from building multiple money-making blogs

Here it is…

The money is in the content

Content rules at the end of the day. This is your most valuable asset and it has got to be good.

Take your time crafting the perfect blog post. Do keyword research. Write with your audience in mind. Go long-form. Use tools to help (I use Jasper and Copy AI).

Then, go back and make it better.

Outsourcing can make a LOT of sense

There comes a time when outsourcing will make a lot of sense for your blogging business.

Go with that feeling and don’t fight it.

Outsourcing can help you get your time back, put your effort on the tasks that only you can do best, and make you TONS more money.

I recently read an income report from Adam Enfroy. I have been following him almost since the very start of his blogging journey.

I have seen him grow from thousands per month to $300K+ per month in his blog and it's only a few years old!

Anyway, his income report revealed that he spent around $20,000 on outsourcing!

Insane.

He made more than 10X this amount for the month so spending 10% of your earnings on outsourcing is how you can kind of look at it but, if you find that the time is right for you to take this on, go for it.

Blogging is a long road — be patient

Sometimes it takes bloggers years to start making money. And not the “leave your day job” kind of money, either, just a few bucks.

On the other hand, I’ve seen new bloggers go full-time within a few months.

Either way, you’ve got to be patient.

Blogging is definitely a long-game kind of job. Stick with it.

There are tons of ways to monetize your blog, you don’t have to do it all

Just because there are 6 or 7 core ways to make money blogging does not mean you have to take advantage of all those methods to monetize your blog.

You can pick one thing and go with it.

For example, some of the most successful blogs make money from ad networks only, or affiliate marketing only.

You can pick one thing.

Don’t feel like you have to spread yourself out so thin and do it all.

Jack of all trades, master of none is not what you want.

On the other hand, I’m all for multiple income streams.

So, I’d recommend picking maybe 1–3 ways to focus on for blog monetization, like: affiliate marketing and ads, for example.

TL;DR

Let’s recap.

After building dozens of blogs, here are some things I have learned…

  • The money is in the content
  • Outsourcing can make sense for your blog
  • Blogging is a long road — be patient
  • You don’t have to monetize your blog using all the ways
