Greetings author,

Welcome you all to the second theme of the Give and Gain challenge. If you haven’t read the post about the earlier theme, you can read it here.

This week’s prompt is “Time Management”. This week I will share posts about how to manage your time wisely.

Time is an important thing in life. Without time, there is no life.

“Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you”.

-Carl Sandburg

We all have 24 hours in a day. No one in this world has more or less time. It depends on us how we use our time. You can make more money by using your time. However, you can’t have more time, even if you are ready to pay.

Therefore, the most valuable thing in anyone’s life is their time.

“Time is money”.

-Benjamin Franklin

That’s why it’s important to know that how are you spending your time. We sometimes don’t even recognize that how we spent our day.

How we spend our days is how we spend our life. Days are important. We often think about what will happen if we waste our one day. However, you will lose important 24 hours of your life which you will never get back.

Successful people plan their days. They start working from small goals. They don’t plan their life, they plan every day to execute the big projects.

It’s everyday work that makes you successful in the long term.

To manage your time wisely, the first step is to identify where and how are you spending your current time.

Try diligently logging your time for a week by tracking your daily activities.

Here are some of the questions you have to ask yourself,

  • Are you spending your time on worthy things
  • Are you wasting your time on random things
  • Are you spending your time to fulfill your goals or you are just doing what is life throws at you

If you are spending your time on not useful things, then it’s time to save and spend your time on your goals.

Focus on activities that provide the greatest returns.

How much of your time is spent on unproductive thoughts, conversations, and activities. Once you know it, you will get an idea that how much time are you wasting and you can utilize this amount of time to fulfill your goals.

“At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or a parent”.

-Barbara Bush

In the last days of your life, you will regret not spending time on achieving your goals and dreams. We all have a very limited time to work on ourselves, to work on our dreams, and make our life meaningful.

Not everyone lives the life they want because they don’t be able to manage their time. If you learned to manage your time wisely, you can live your life as per your choice. You can have all the things you want if you can handle your time.

Today’s prompt is,

Take your journal and start writing all your tasks. How are you currently spending your time?

Write the task and how much time are you spending on each task.

Once, you finished doing these. Analyze your lists by yourself. You will have some of the time that you are wasting on non-useful things. Once you know it, start using that time on valuable things.

I would like to end this post with one of my favorite quotes.

“Time = life; therefore, waste your time and waste of your life, or master your time and master your life.”

-Alan Lakein
